Jahnavi Misra and Apoorva Mundoor are independent animators based in London, UK. They create handmade stop motion and mixed media animated films under their banner, Khela Films. Khela is a Hindi word which can mean both dramatic performance and illusion – the two terms which describe accurately their attempt to tell stories and create life through inanimate materials such as plasticine, paper, terracotta, clay, pixilation, sand and found objects.

Their films, ‘The Sweetmeat Boy’ and ‘I am Ramdeen’, have been shown in multiple film festivals around the world.
Their latest film is called ‘Flickering Light’ in English and ‘Peeli Batti’ in Hindi. The film is an exploration of loneliness and dissociation.
